Objectives:

To support a network of excellent insitutions and to complete the infrastructure for research of molecular mechanisms of human disease and translation of new knowledge into medicine. The project aims to support networking of excellent research facilities that can enhance research by completing their infrastructure and at the same time have great potential in addressing a joint research project. This objective is of strategic economic and social importance, since it seeks to improve health of our population by translation of knowledge of molecular biology into medicine. In developed countries, modern methods of molecular biology are now extensively applied in detection, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of serious diseases, because they can provide information essential for effective treatment with greater success. These procedures are also more economical than conventional methods, which are time-consuming and use more material, while being less specific, less reliable, and more expensive. In our country, utilization of these approaches of molecular biology in medicine  lags considerably behind, which is caused mainly by the absence of translational research in this area.
