Imaging Techniques

Typhoon 9210 (Amersham) – The Typhoon instrument is a variable-mode imager that produces digital images of radioactive, fluorescent, or chemiluminescent samples. TheTyphoon system consists of an instrument, instrument control software and a variety of accessories. Typhoon™ system is able to scan fluorescent samples, chemiluminescent samples and storage phosphor screens that have been exposed to radioactive samples.

Accuri C6 (BD) – is a digital basic flow cytometer, which is equipped with a Blue (488nm) and a Red (640nm) lasers, two light scatter detectors (FSC and SSC), and four fluorescence detectors. The default configuration of the BD Accuri® C6 is similar to the FACSCalibur-2 (3-Blue 1-Red) with filters optimized for the detection of fluorochromes such as FITC, PE, PerCP and APC.

Imager 600 (Amersham) – Imager 600 RGB (Amersham)- is a sensitive and robust chemiluminescence imager for high-resolution digital imaging of protein and DNA samples in gels and membranes. Amersham Imager 600RGB is equipped for chemiluminescence imaging and includes an automatic overlay function, which allows simultaneous imaging of
a chemiluminescent sample and a colored molecular weight marker. Amersham Imager 600RGB is also equipped with light sources and filters for UV and white light trans-illumination as well as red, green, and blue epi-illumination for multifluorescence detection. Optical density (OD) measurements are calibrated for quantification of colorimetric staining applications.

Epoch 2 Microplate Spectrophotometer (Bio-tek) – microplate spectrophotometer combines modern touchscreen technology with excellent performance for UV-Vis measurements in 6- to 384-well microplates, cuvettes and in micro-volume samples with the available Take3 plate. No need to worry about limited on-board software, since Epoch 2 comes with full function Gen5 software, ready to read and analyze data at the touch of the screen! For maximum versatility, Epoch 2 reads from 200 nm to 999 nm in 1 nm increments for single, dual and multi-wavelength measurements in endpoint and kinetic read methods. Spectral scanning and well area scanning add to the system’s wide-ranging applications. For cell-based and other temperature sensitive assays, Epoch 2’s 4-Zone™ incubation extends to 65 °C and offers the unique Condensation Control™ to prevent condensation on plate lids. A variety of data output options are available, including WiFi, Bluetooth and a USB flash drive, making Epoch 2 a fully contained microplate spectrophotometer workstation.

CF440 Image Station (Kodak) – the cooled CCD camera, combined with 6x ZOOM lens capturet 12-bit images that can be accumulated with16-bit files at the pixel density of 752×582, Which generates an image which resolution of 58 microns at the full zoom. IS440CF provides three standard forms of illumination including transmission UV and no–illuminated modes. Transmission mode utilizes external (room) light (with a Light Diffuser) for absorbance imaging of samples, such as Coomassie gels or autoradiography films.
