Laboratory of Imaging Technology

The Accuri C6 (BD) is a straightforward digital flow cytometer comprising blue (488 nm) and red (640 nm) lasers, two detectors for light scattering measurements (FSC and SSC), and four fluorescence detectors.

The Imager 600 (Amersham) is a sensitive, high-resolution imaging instrument for the detection of chemiluminescence and fluorescence. It is employed to identify DNA and RNA in gels following horizontal electrophoresis and to detect proteins in gels or on membranes following Western blotting. The instrument permits the simultaneous imaging of chemiluminescently labelled samples and molecular weight markers. The instrument is equipped with light sources and filters for transillumination with ultraviolet light and white light, as well as epi-illumination with red, green and blue light for multifluorescence detection.

The Typhoon 9210 (Amersham) is a scanning variable imaging device that is capable of producing digital images of radioactively, fluorescently and chemiluminescently labelled samples. It is equipped with blue and green lasers.

The Epoch 2 Microplate Spectrophotometer (Bio-tek) is a plate spectrophotometer designed for UV-Vis measurements in 6-384 well microplates, cuvettes and low volume samples. It includes fully functional Gen5 software. It is capable of detection from 200nm-999nm in 1nm increments for measurements using one, two or more wavelengths in both normal and kinetic modes. The instrument is equipped with a unique control mechanism that prevents condensation on the plate surfaces during measurement. For convenient data transfer, the instrument is equipped with WiFi, Bluetooth and USB input.

The CF440 Image Station (Kodak) is a document camera with a cooled CCD chip and a combined 6x magnification, capable of capturing 12-bit images with a maximum resolution of 58 microns per pixel. It is equipped with three standard forms of illumination.
